This Kitchen
was custom designed by Jane Page Design Group for a local show house. A cozy restaurant in Barcelona, Spain was the
inspiration for this kitchen design.
The
combination of the dark stain and antique white finished cabinets with pops of
blue and white tiles, gives interest and contrast to this traditional
kitchen. The designers wanted to introduce
a unique focal point. Therefore, the A-Ha moment - the designer decided to back-light
custom leaded glass panels above the tiled kitchen hood. The illuminated panels added the perfect
touch to complete this kitchen design.
The cabinets
were designed with a combination of glass doors and display areas at different
heights. Two appliance garages with
pocket doors were added at the right and left of the refrigerator. The island was glazed in a lighter color to
add contrast to the rich darker wall cabinets.
This kitchen
was made wheelchair accessible by widening the cased openings and distance between
wall cabinets and island. The microwave
drawer was also installed low for ADA use.
The kitchen unites the family room via a large round
table. Designing the family room with
coordinating colors makes this comfortable yet large space welcoming.
